IE is MUCH easier to mess up and get malicious files through. When I had IE I kept on getting spyware, adware, and viruses. When IE downloads the info for ads on a page a malicious file can attach itself to the download, FF is less likely to have that happen. You can also make it so you don't download any images from a page with FF. The security is way better.

And the reason a page will sometimes look different in FF is because some coding will work differently. FF will support the !important command, which will make that code execute first, while IE will not. Little differences like that will sometimes make a page look different, that's why whenever I code something like a message board skin I check it in both IE and FF.

And I think FF is what you want man, seeing as you want tabs and IE doesn't have those, AND it's just plain better.

edit - I've never used the others so I can't really speak for them

K, all you that say IE is better, get a life.
All of you who say FF or O is better, ya, I agree, they both show their ass in front of IE. FF for viewing pictures, and O for coding people, because O accepts all the latest CSS and CSS2 standards, where FF doesn't..

here is what i no and i hope this answers ur question to what u want,

with IE u do not get tabed browsing and it doesnt have a built in pop up blocker which leaves u more suceptible to spyware, pop ups, etc...U could install a pop up blocker but it doesnt have tabbed browsing

FF has tabed browsing and a built in pop up blocker and is very customizable

Opera is considered a good browser, like firefox it has tabed browsing and a built in pop up blocker, but it does cost money if u want the full version, the free version still works but has ads for the full version

Netscape recently came out with a new browser and it had good reviews but i have not heard much about it

if you insist on the IE engine use netscape 8 as you still get to steal many off FFs tricks on NC 8.
