Help!

    after i installed windows x64, my monitor kept displaying "not optimum mode recommended 1280 by 1024. 60hz"

    the rest of the screen is blank

    i dont know what to do

    anyone help?

    that looks like a compatability problem. you need to lower your refresh rate on your computer. borrow an extra monitor from your friend, or if you can do it, hook it up to your TV. other than that, I dont remember how to fix it, i only heard of this problem...

    edit= oh, didnt catch that... you could probably use the monitor you are using now on your other comp. and you will have to go into your "desktop properties", to the settings pannel, advanced and somewhere in there it tells the refresh rate. hope this helps..

    tried another monitor, same thing

    i went into safe mode, and it worked

    went to desktop, and tried to change resolution, but nothing happens

    anyone know the answer to this one?

    You need a faster processor to run things - I think. Or a better graphic card. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

    hmmm while I was looking at my laptops bios I made it, so I can make my resolution 1600*1200 a.k.a made 1024 look small so theres a lot of black around it right now. I dont suggest you touch bios at ALL>

    Thats weird... i know some guys who tried that and didn't have any problems at all.

    go to safe mode

    put the screen options on 1280 by 1024 60hz

    should work

    p.s. ya dont need a new proccesor or videocard (its your monitor)

    i tried

    i went to safe mode

    but it doesnt work

    when i press ok, or apply, nothing happens
