When I got mine it was incredibly easy despite all the problems I heard about it. I just installed iTunes and imported some music from some CD's and then when I plugged the iPod in with the usb port it automaticly made the ipod library the same as the iTunes library. But I cant figure out how to get music from other folders into the iPod. I'm really frustrated with that. which may be your problem too.
its not that hard the way i do it is.. go to your library, then file > add a file to library you can add all the files you want from your comp (any folder) then there should be an option of your IPOD, after you connect it.. right click on that, and click UPDATE SONGS, it will transfer the songs from the library to your ipod.. when it says OK to disconnect, dont unplug it, DISCONNECT, there is a button for it.. if you unplug, it sometimes damages your files on your ipod
Yea I just dragged + dropped, hooked my ipod + comp up to the isb thing and there. Never had a single problem with my ipod yet and I've had it for about a year.
I am working with my ipod right now. Yah, the first guy that posted has it right. And I dont know about the freezing, never happens to me.
1. Connect your iPod. Make sure you've installed the iPod drivers and software using the CD. 2. iTunes should open up automatically. Go to File > Add Songs to Library. If you have a Music folder, go to Add Folder to Library. 3. Once all the files are imported to iTunes, it'll transfer them to the iPod. 4. Once that's done, click on the little "Eject" sign next to the iPod on the screen, and it'll SAFELY disconnect the iPod. For more help just go to the Apple website.
ipod = crap......conclusion, get a zen or get EPHPOD ( http://www.ephpod.com/download.shtml ) its much better than iTunes when it comes to importing/exporting music.
