Hey, I'm looking into getting some new parts for my computer, one of them being an X2 processor. I was wondering if anyone had one and could give me a real-life verdict on how powerful and beneficial these things are...I'm looking into the 4400+ and I plan to overclock it to 4800+ levels or beyond. Thanks in advance ^_^
Hi, DOnt have one but heard they are good. 4400 is 2x3700's There arent many multi-threaded apps at the moment but it would be best to still get an x2. They come with a copper heatsink too I believe. If you need more help see forums.amd.com and they will help you with all parts of the pc.
there are several reasons why to get one. MT(Multi Threading) allows you to run multiply applications at the same time; i.e. Burn a DVD with Nero and play Counter-Strike: Source at the samne time with out a performance decrease. Multi media applications are multi threaded(High end video and audio editing) I chose a FX series model because I want the highest performance for 1 application(CS:S)
you only get an fx if you want to overclock because it has an unlocked multiplier. an A64 4000 is the same as an fx55 with a locked multiplier.
