A world far beyond your imagination...
^Thats become you are letting stereotypes affect you.
I listen to rap and I have a laid back contemporary style.
Buttoned up shirts, shirts with funny quotes and pictures, make my own shirts, nice pants not too baggy, etc.
Basically I don't dress as a gangster nor rocker.

@j ball - reminds of someone from my school who went skater to whigger... I hate whiggers that walk around going...G-UNIT (which is what he does now)... Just cuz you listen to a certain type of music doesn't mean you have to dress the part...music doesn't make the man...the man makes the music

Dude ure wrong.. 50 cent lil jon Y&Y are commercial rap/crunk or miami bass w/e.

    HIP HOP:
    DJ
    Graffiti
    Breakdance
MC. Thats ----ing what makes hip hop music. Dont say 50 cent is hip hop.

its actually only the "oldschool" rappers that are hip hop.. 90's > and down to 60's.
    but mostly 80's and down..

But yeah. All these metal heads jumps in every time theres a rap thread : "Rap sucks." - Good reason. I dont see any rap fan jump into a metal thread and say it sucks..
And i never said metal/rock sucked. Never listened to it.

Rap is not computerized music, its mostly about the lyrics.Mostly complex and unique. [/b][/quote]
I have to disagree, it is computerized music, with some so called lyrics that someone else(in most cases) wrote. Lyrics that take no imagination at all to come up with.

I don't hate rap becaues it causes violence(where i live it does because wanna-be gangsters listen to certain artists and try to act tough by attempting to beat up people, its quite funny actually). I hate it because it requires no talent.

Please, don't waste your energy by trying to convince me that I'm wrong and that it requires talent, I'm very close-minded and rely on mostly only my own opinion, I neglect other people's opinions about things like this :)

I can stand anything but rap, and I can't stand most hip-hop or r&b either, most of it is talentless bull----.

This is all my own opinion, if you can't handle it and can't resist flaming or(yes there are some people that would do this) -rep'n, then get off the internet now.

You think any rapper (not mainstream) have no skills? They used 10 years or summit, to be a rapper. And when they get record deal, its a dream come true.
Dont tell me someone else wrote BDK's lines man!

But yes, nowadays rap turned into ----.. < mainstream.. thats what causes the violence, becourse u turn on radio: 50 cent. <_< and the little white kids and black wanna be like him.. i hate how it turned out.. the rap game.
Once it was so nice to listen to rap.. now it sucks. the mainstream.. ofcourse theres alot underground rappers that are sick.. but those mainstream bitches flips the game around.. :\

Then get off the internet, you're always going to run into people that hate rap. Can't take an opinion? Seriously, you don't belong here if that's the case.

Older rap wasn't that bad, but lately it's been horrible. It's everywhere. The one music channel that used to be pure rock was Fuse TV, and now I turn it on to watch the rock countdown and like metal the the slave and stuff, and there's f---ing rap on there, it pisses me off, if it wasn't on a rock channel I wouldn't get so annoyed. Underground rap may be good, I wouldn't know, mainstream ---- has made me too pissed off to listen to underground, since we all know that some of them are going to get famous and turn into every other mainstream rapper(yes i just stereotyped, live with it).

i think all genre of music have talented artist. I dont like when someone stereotypes one kind of music when they themselves havent really listen to what that kind of music has to offer. I like all kinds of music depending on the mood

What? WHAT? I honestly don't know how you came up with that. How was I letting stereotypes "affect" me? I just changed what I listened to, and it has slowly changed me and my style. I don't see how that is me letting stereotypes affect me. It just happens. I never said it affected everyone. I just see it affecting most people.

Yeah, listen to himster. He's right on the nose. Listen to the music where people showcase talent, not fame. I'd also suggest Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush, Yes, and Supertramp.

To all the people who think rap is just a beat and some words and involves no talent, I say to you:

Go out there and make me a decent rap beat from scratch. Make your own synths and bass lines and while your at it make the drum loops too. Then put it all together to make a 3 minute song. It's not easy, I've tried it and it takes a lot of time and effort to make a decent rap song.

If anyone decides to accept my challenge (I doubt they will) here's a link to get you started. Click "Download ACID Xpress software", you use ACID Xpress to make the songs.

Easy. I could do that and I have absolutely NO musical talent whatsoever. All you have to do is fire up GarageBand on your Mac. It makes it so easy to make music. All you have to know is what you like.

But on Rock v. Rap; I say screw it all and crank up the Johnny Cash.

I don't hate rap or rock. But I do hate ganstas, wangstas, and wood pushers.
