What The Hell Is A Crew?

and how do they get so "popular" lol im confused im relatively new to GR so ya fill me in plz ^_^

 

From what my friend told me here on GR they are like the equivalent to video game clans.

 

a "Crew" is a team of designers (in this case) who have a website and produce graphics out of that website for you (the community) who inwich ask for them. thus making a crew popular. and how we get even more popular is by advertising and producing the best sigs/graphics/templates/whatever else.

 

Pretty cool stuff. There are so many good people here.

 

I wish I could be in the invisioneers.

 

So basically, a crew is just your average graphic design site?

 

i wish i was in Nl dreamy effects or last dimension.....

 

crews are over rated :/ sorry just my opinion...

 

Crews in general can't be overrated only actually crews can ^_^
And if they are then im stupid, but maybe I am but I think they are just the same thing as gaming clans

I had never heard of these "crews" until now. Odd that.

 

I dont like crews. THE ONLY CREW I WOULD EVER BE IN WOULD CONSIST OF:

jill (ahhhh shes gone *vader noo)
Buddy Jesus (from Dogma)

Yeah. Thatd be a kickass crew to be in.

 

you can usually tell by the huge avy's they have, like the one next to my name...

 

Some times crews can be over rated. I think, and these are just my opinions, since I don't pay much attention to crews since im no where near skill level for any of them.

However, crews can do alot of good I think. Sure its like another graphic design site. But at least you know you have friends you can talk to, and get opinions from, or even tips on how to improve something. And yes, I realize you don't need a crew to do that, but its always nice to know there will be people you can ask for advice from on your designs. Or people you can work on designs with.

So if the crew is about friendship, improving your designs and generally making everyone in the crew better at something they obviously enjoy doing, then I dont see how that can be over rated.

 

Crews are overrated and biased. Sorry, but it's true. Most members of crews aren't that great, but because they have people like BloodAndIron behind the crews reputation, they're viewed as gods.

As for being biased, you can't help it, but they always are. This is a little offtopic, but for example, if a guy and a girl were in a "sig battle" and they both had the same sig, except for maybe a small difference in hue, 99% of the people will vote for the girl. It's the same for crews.
