DMX Facing Jail for Release Conditions According to the terms of his conditional release, DMX had to keep his nose clean for 12 months to remain a free man. Two driving-related brushes with the law later, the rapper could face jail time, charged Monday with violating the conditions of the guilty plea he entered eight months ago, according to The New York Times. Initial charges stemmed from a June 24, 2004, incident at Kennedy International Airport, in which the rapper, claiming he was a federal agent, allegedly tried to steal a car. On December 8, DMX (born Earl Simmons), pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and was sentenced to a conditional discharge (see "DMX Pleads Guilty To DUI And Reckless Endangerment"). He also had his license suspended for six months, and was ordered to forfeit his sport utility vehicle. Simmons' release was contingent on his staying out of trouble. But less than two weeks later, he was arrested near his Westchester County home for driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle and speeding (see "DMX Arrested For Driving Violations — Again"). Police who stopped his car clocked its speed at 104 mph; he was driving in a 65 mph zone. In April, Simmons allegedly triggered a three-car accident in the Bronx, New York — one vehicle involved was an unmarked police car (see "DMX Arrested After Triggering Three-Car Collision In New York"). Three people, including two police officers, sustained minor injuries. Simmons appeared in a Queens, New York, court on Monday to face the new charge. He was released on $500 bail and has been ordered to return to court October 11, Newsday reports. According to Kevin Ryan, a spokesman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, DMX now faces up to a year in jail. Source: MTV "G-Unit's" Lloyd Banks & Young Buck Arrested G-Unit rappers Lloyd Banks and Young Buck were released without bail today (Aug. 9) following their arrest on felony gun possession charges after a concert in Manhattan. Lloyd Banks, whose real name is Chris Lloyde, and Young Buck, whose real name is David Brown, were riding in a van with 10 other men that allegedly ran a red light at about 11:30 p.m. last night near the corner of West 41st Street and Eighth Avenue, authorities said. Police said one of the 12 men was carrying a loaded handgun and another weapon was found on the floor of the van. All of the occupants were charged with gun possession. Lloyde, 23, and Brown, 24, had just performed at nearby Madison Square Garden as part of the Anger Management 3 tour. Their lawyer, Scott Leemon, declined to comment. Source: Billboard This seems to be an all too-familiar case with many rappers out there. I like hip-hop culture (even tho sum playa hataz be sugar coatin this motherf*cka, wurd to the mother), especially the music, but many artists just need to smarten the hell up. Why are most of the successful hip-hop artists the dumb ones? Even Eminem pulled out weapons on people and you'd figure that he'd be smart enough in his lyrics... [/rant]
Yah i have to agree, but i like NWA tupac biggie etc old school rap is much better than all this new stuff. Some of the new stuff is ok though, i justthink they are retarded in their raps.
dmx is dumb i give u that gunit engh >.> but ppl need to guide them i say if ur gonna rap u need to have a license >.> for it
if they made you get a lisence no one would be able to rap except rich white boys and then rapping would be ruined forever
ROFLMFAO! ha thats funny...about that so many rappers hav guns to feel save and its also self protection from ppl who try to kill u i dont blame em
DMX fell off a while back like back in 98 after he made (I'm guessing the # here but) 3 albums in about 2 yrs. That's not enough time between each one to put quality stuff on each album. Anyway all those guys are ignorant and stuff with all their millions they still need to find a way to get into trouble instead of using the money to do something fun...like buying a comp and going to gamerender.com
they carry guns because of rap-hating people like you on this forum 2pac talked about stuff that was real.. for that, he was shot why do you think 50 cent wears a bulletproof vest? he knows hes a pussy and everyone hates him
---- rappers they are all a bunch of criminals that never went to school and made a life my stealing beats and talking bull----. I mean they can't even sing they have the most horrible voices ever so instead they talk. Then because they are full of cash and stuff they can easily pass at customs but most punk bands can't even pass. Why? Because real punk bands don't have a lot of cash and they express their hate towards the system. ---- rappers they are all ----ty and full of cash then they go say how life is bad and ----. Look at how many rap gang wars there is. Do you see any punk wars? No.
hehe.. tupac & b.i.g oldschool? naah ranxton -> Hip hop is, when you rap about community, life, and stuff like that. And who cares about punks?
Not all rappers are criminals A lot of rappers went to school, most of them did actually Stealing beats? I don't think so... Rapping isnt singing dumbass... its RAPPING *arf?* That sucks for punk bands! I don't see any rappers talk about life being horrible, I see them rapping about life being amazing actually So all punk bands are just little goodie two shoes eh? Mic check 1,2 1,2, Mic check 1,2 1,2, Mic check 1,2 - what is this? Santanas back to business, lets go, AYE! LONG LIVE RAP.
