Ive been trying to get cross-browser compatability for my site, which was designed for, and works perfectly on, IE. However on testing it using firefox and netscape, all of my positioned layers are higher than normal :S. What is going on here? Surely a pixel is a pixel, and if something's (for example) 20px or so from the right, its always in the same position:S. What is reading what differently?
i know codedfx is a good site that you might learn some stuff on ^_^ Site-http://www.codedfx.com/forums/index.php?act=idx hope this works
it's simple, each browser interprets positioning diferently. netscape and firefox use a very similar engine so they look about the same, IE uses it's own thing and so does opera. EDIT: the typical solution to this is to use tables though that can get somewhat complex. also relative positioning renders itself diferently at diferent screen resolutions... don't do it.
position: absolute; top: 30px; right: 30px; Just add that in your css to whatever you are trying to position, should work. (edit the numbers though)
