yo dude, i have a 2400 and its well worth the money. Trust me. The only problems with DELL computers is the fact that if u want to upgrade, you have to buy the parts from DELL.

Anyways, I say u should get it. ^_^

building would likely be out of the question, you'd spend too much on hardware... try to go for an a64 hp offers them... other than that no clue

I say wait until you can get the best coupon and discounts. I know people who have gotten Dell's for $75 dollars with 17" LCD's and p4's at 3.0 Ghz (plus more). Just look out for the deals; usually I spot them over at the Anandtech Hot Deals forum.

i have the 2400. i have a radeon 9250 256 mb video card with 756 mb of ram in it and it runs FINE. just make sure to keep a box fan behind teh tower to keep it from overheating :):):)

but other than that, stock to 2400 sucks ass. only game that doesnt lag with a stock 2400 is sc. diablo, wc, wow all lag like hell. but i have upgraded it since stock so i dont have that problem now

Dell is always a good choice to buy computers. I got a inspiron 9100 and a dimension 8400 and they both work fine. I'd suggest you get the dell 4700 since its a well balanced machine and you can update to a nvidia geforce 6800 when you get enough money.
