It will say OEM, because i'm guessing that you dont have Ultra ATA, with the knowledge you have, not trying to be rude.
what brand of hard drive, what capacity, what connection (eide, sata), ... why the frick wouldnt it work on your computer? you hook it up, and if bios recognizes it, you're in business, what kinda question is 'will it work on my computer?' frickin just try it out, geez, theres nothing you can do wrong if it isnt capatable... the only incapadablity youd have is if you put a MAC hard drive into a PC... grrr, sry, but you're acting like a total newb... Its like asking if XP will run on your computer... #&%^%#&%#$$$&#$&*$&^......
You need to know what type of hardrive your computer motherboard supports, the two popular ones right now are IDE and SATA. If your motherboard supports IDE and you buy a IDE harddrive and plug it in, it should work without hitch.
