Why Cant I....

    Ok my Dad just re installed everything on my comp. However I cant seem to play any games anymore. It keeps saying Failed to set video mode. Anyone know whats wrong?

    well the best idea i can give you is just reinstall your games becouse maybe your dad messed something up in installing them

    Maybe you missed some download that might be needed to play the game, such as Shockwave, Macromedia, etc.

    It could be your video card, make sure that the games support the video card that is installed in your computer.

    I would say when your Dad re-installed, he didn't update your video drivers. I would go into device manager and see what card you have and then go and get the most recent drivers, should fix your problem.

    No we got the latest video driver. My dad thinks that it has somthing to do with the Codec.

    I don't think you need video codecs to play games.
    Reinstall the videocard drivers cause a friend of mine had a problem similar to this one a while ago, where the driver had just disappeared or smth.

    you have the graphic drivers that come with windows xp. u need to download new drivers
