For those of you who dont know what a favicon.ico is, its the little thing next to the URL on firefox and netscape and some other browers. I just think it would be better if GR had one. This is a big graphics community and not having one just makes it seem plain. . . What does everyone else think(they are usually 16x16 px just FYI)

It gives this place a slightly more professional look, plus, makes it easier for people who have too many bookmarks

It just looks better when you have a little .ico image next to your URL/favourites. It's only small, but it gives the web page a little more individuallity to it.

For those of you interested in creating favicons, here is a very useful site that makes creating them very simple: http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon

There is now a (simple) GameRenders favicon as some of you may see.

can only use 16x16 icons... puny
i made it so it automaticly uses the inverse color of the background it is on.

so if you have a light skin on yer browser it will have a dark square
if you have a dark skin on yer browser it wil have a lightcolored square.
    it should anyway.

also made a larger one 48x48, using the render in the GR banner.
but in the browser it gets resized to 16x16, the "GR" gets blurry then.

this is the jpg version (not the .ico)
if you run that thru the application Llamaman linked, you can make yer own local icon
