Check Newegg, if you look, they have one for $80 that's 1 Gig (two 512 MB ones)

It does make a difference but only if you upgrade by alot. I got 512mb on my old comp and put another 512 in there and now it runs good. Newegg is where i go for computer parts ;)

2 512 mb sticks could do the trick, make sure they are the same, by ram, ddr, ddr2, because its kinda like a rule to make the same i think. if your motherboard can handle dual channel sticks then yes go for it.

if you have an older computer, its' motherboard probobly has a ram cap...like my comp is old its ram cap is 512 mb or regular ram...so...its probobly the same with you...a lot of times ram may help a little bit but a lot of the speed will come from your processor chip...can we see some specs on you comp[?
