Jack Thompson. Never heard of him? Lawyer crusading to pretty much shut down video games as we know it. He has failed, about 88 percent of the time. (his only victory was teh joint effort over the hot coffee mod) Right now he is currently spending his time taking down "The Sims 2" which apparently he thinks by using a cheat code - you can see full on nudity - even on children. Which, is bull**** and nonsense. Game modding could die people, it could easily die very quickly if Jack and the American government got their way, like the Hot Coffee Mod, but this is not my case in point. Knowing, of the 'violence', and 'nudity' and 'sex' and lots of other nasty things that WE MUST be protected from (thats sarcasm) - I wouldnt be surprised if he came after us next. But maybe he wont. Maybe he will. But Im warning everyone ahead of time. The best way to fight him and his government friends would be peaceful, calmly, and staying sane, proving hes full of it.
Doesn't prove anything if we just repeat STFU. We need to be smarter than them if we're (this site/gaming in general) to survive this, they're the government they could just pass a bill saying "NOES VIDEO GAMES BYOTCHES NO GAMES KTHXBAI GIVE US MONEY WE'REZ SMARTER THAN YOUS" and it'd be too easy. That guy is a dick if he tried to shut down gaming completely you know how many ppl world wide would seriously make his life very ----ed up ? I know a lot of hackers that would destroy his ass if he ever tries doing that.
im not that addicted to games but i mean that would ----ing suck man i hope he doesnt get his way at all i mean if that happend i would say more then 50% of the teen agers of many countrys would start taking or doing more drugs and alchohal then they do now... alot more
I have to agree with you on that one 110% because taking video games away from some of these hardcore gamers would seriously send them into a fit.... drug use amongst teens would sky rocket
Yeah, or all of us would actually still play them in an underground movement. That does more good than loading up on drugs. Oh and dont forget peaceful protests! Sucks we have to act sane and civil to prove our point, but its for gaming to survive.

If they pass a bill saying no more violent games - there wont be anymore steam so no more CSS or CS... :censored: ;( but if that happened, I would add that to my list of reasons for armed revolution.
Here is just another reason why i like living in Canada. We dont have people out there trying to stop people from having "Fun".

teh shutting down of video games would be impossible the video game business is quickly spreading into many cultures and is being used for many different things such as armies now using video games for training the soldiers... video games are an important part of the future, no 1 man could possibly do anything, maybe add an additional warning level to GTA, but thats it...
