Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 939
Graphics Card - ABIT GURU Radeon X700 256MB
PSU - ePOWER Tagan TG-480-U22 ATX 480W Power Supply

Add some ram, dvd, hd and a case. That will run smoother than your p4 you were planning and its 64bit ready. The pc should be good for games and applications. The processor is also easily upgradable for the future.
