    buy a cheep second hardrive!!!

put linux on the 2nd HD... have both... its a lot easier than runnning dual boot and a lot less stressfull and prone to risk.

i wish mods would pm you when they move your topic...i thought my topic was deleted....i have dled ubuntu install and i friggin love linux....it takes a little getting used to...i am still learning the basics....but its so damn cool...i am still at the stage where you go on the forums and copy and paste all the code...lol...hence my new name...capinux...copy and paste linux is what i am doing right now lol.

about winehq? are the progs on it free or does it just enable the user to use winblows progs on linux?

meaning that i wont need dual boot just run wine?

Linux is for servers and hackers, not for general users.

I would like suggestions for a good linux distro, I try fedora core but didn't like it that much. It was incompatable with everything and only supported a screen resolution up to 800*600. I will be building a computer soon and am considering dual boot of XP pro(secondary for gaming and GFX) and of a linux OS. I shouldn't have huge compatability issues this way as I would be on a hardwired internet network.

Please PM incase I don't see this thread later
