Alternate ways to bring up task manager is as follows
    1 - press CTRL + SHIFT + SPACE

2 - Right click taskbar and click task manager

Well only 2 i know except the CTRL + ALT + DEL one which didnt work :D
    I hope it helps

start> run> and type taskmgr.exe and it is also in the C:\windows\system32 directory. if none of thos work you may have a corrupt registry or spy/adware that prevents you from running it, try a spyware remover also

Yea, I think it might be spyware because it says that something else is using it.
I have a spyware remover, but it's not very great, any suggestions for a good, free spyware remover?

i have the same exact problem as you bro. i have run ad-aware and that didnt work either. alot of people have this problem, google it and look in computer forums, they have stickied threads on how to fix it, ill try to find a link for ya. i just deal with it for now. i dont have the need for tm. the only way you will probably get it back is if you delete your partion and re -install windows but thats to much

I can just book it for now, but not for too long, because this is a very nice, new computer that cost like a bunhc of freaking money, and if my dad finds out that its already infested with spy-ware...well...lets just say that's not good.

MS launched their beta version of AnitSpyware - Its a application just like the others :D seems to work quite good for me and found spywres/adwares that wasnt found by the Program Adaware or SpyDoctor that i used previously

dude go to www.download.com and download the latest spybot - search and destroy....then get adaware se personal edition...

if you have a windows nt edition then i would try microsofts spyware remover beta.
