I ran into this video a few days ago and I showed it to one of my friends. He's really anti-war and it never really bothered me since I respect people's oppinions. But his comments on the following video pissed me off and made me realize that certain oppinions... are just plain idiotic, and flat out wrong. *VIDEO IS THAT OF A GRAPHIC NATURE* http://users.rcn.com/sitzkrieg/war/_iraqiwithrpg.wmv Now what you see in the video is a horrible horrible thing. A man died. But the comment out of my friend was... lemme see if I can quote him as close as possible. "See, that's how brutal American forces are in Iraq. Did you see how they just killed that man?" I looked at the guy with my jaw hung low. It's true, a man dying is nothing to take lightly... but to say that his death was something that shouldn't have happened is stupid. It's ****ing war and the man had an RPG. That can easily take out a chopper and kill nearly a dozen American soldiers or Iraqi civilians. When that man picked up that weapon he gave up the right to be called a civilian and has willingly turned himself into a soldier. Somebody should not look at a dead soldier with discust towards the people that killed him/her because that person that got killed would have done the exact same thing were they in the shoes of the people that did the killing. I'm just sick and tired of the ignorance about war and the apathy to try and actually understand it. Yeah, war is a horrible horrible thing but unless the world itself implodes, leaving the universe void of life... there'll never be such a thing as complete peace. The only thing we can do is buy chunks of history where peace reigns and in order to have those small pieces of time... you have to fight for them. This is one of the times where we need to fight. End of rant.

If they wanted to put an end to it, they'd join the army and mutiny, thus wasting resources not bitch about it from their sofas. It's been calculated that there have only been something like 236 years of peace in the past 3000 years? Peace isn't something easily achieved, there will always be disagreements between people, can't be bothered to type anymore.
