i made my own PC... pentium 4 3.6ghz HT on a gigabyte 975 motherboard, 3GB ram DDR, 250GB hard disk. Nvidea FX5950 ultra 256mb graphics. Gigabyte 3D hypercooling fan. this cost me the equivelent of $1500/- US and this thing will be able kick anythings ass... just go's to show u can make a better PC for a fraction of the price that they are charging.

Get "Building PCs for Dummies". It's an awesome book if it's your first time building a PC:D.

yea thats not entirely true unless you want to spend up to 6grand for your pc. ther are plenty of other good companies such as falcon northwest but i would suggest just building your own. its so much easier, funer, and cheaper.

i know exactly how you feel.

i was about to buy an alienware for the advertised price ($960)

but oh then you have to customize it with all the specs you need, or it will suck, then you have to get a monitor, and then overpriced shipping and handling...

the final price was around $1400

at this point i realized, i was just spending this much for name and looks.

So pretty much the moral of this story is, buy a good dell for half the price..

Overpriced... you could build the ultimate computer for the price of some of their mid-range computers.

Alienware P.C.s are nice, but they're designed for gaming and aren;t too good in other things. Best making your own P.C. which is good at everything :).

Dont get me wrong, alienware is a great company, but the prices are too high for the average human ta buy, and building your own is cheaper and you can get better results :)

Like said, if you build your own you cut the price down ALOT. But if your not common to computer parts having an Alienware will make you a happy AVID GAMER! :)

I don't care much for alienware due to the fact they are wayyyyy overpriced for what you get.

You could build a similar computer for nearly half the price if you shop newegg or pricewatch. ;)

Then again, if you can't handle building one, then I guess alienware is ok if you have the money to blow.
