9 times out of 10... a virus isn't gonna have anything like virus in the title. Just so ya know. Most of the time they are "Prank", "hoax" or "Joke" programs. Some sites that tell you more about "Hoax Viruses"... http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org http://www.hoaxinfo.com http://www.hoaxkill.com http://www.viruslist.com http://vmmyths.com (List compiles from: Thomson's A+ Guide to Software: Managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Third edition. PG 433) Had to cite my source, so it wasn't plagiarism. And another bit of info.... Many viruses are on a stealth download, meaning you wouldn't see any file progress window. That is all the more reason to run full system scans at least once a week. and make sure you definitions are up to date before you do the scan. You should also run an online scan once a week, for viruses that may have disabled your anti-virus software. Viruses can not hide from an online scan. The viruses the disable antivirus software are known as Retro-viruses or anti-antiviruses. Norton's website has a free database of all the viruses it knows about, so should you ever suspect something to be a virus..... look here for all the latest virus info. Be safe, not sorry or a victim.
