You gotta understand the progression of ppl, this is a very varied site, we got lots of ppl who are just starting out at PS, but we have had some very experience users pass by too...

Irrel, and blacklabelwood for example were 2 ppl who i love almost everyone of their sigs...

I've been here a long time, and GR has definetly helped me, I wish i had some of my first sigs available so i could show you..

I mix my brushes, i use some mine, and some pre-made....

and please dont just dismiss the sigs as "They Suck"....

And i dont understand why you cant be good if u use pre-made brushes

Its like that u suck when u buy premade meat at the supermarket instead of butchering ur own

well, many ppl find it cuts down the work, to just clicking a few times, slap render and text, and color onto your work...

Exactly, sigs aren't true art, because its too simple. Theres no improvement, just new brushes out, (jashin, metal, etc.), that everybody uses, and then the same old whored renders. True art is done in pencil, and other programs. Look at cgtalk.com, for true art. Because signatures are not it.

    And wut do you make?

As far as i know u make sigs...i dont say sigs are true art...

And dude, i definetely do not click a couple of times and slap a render on it..

Okay, making ur own brushes shows more talent...

Damn, you guys just dont get the point

Good call, that's what happens when you go from very few members, to 10's of thousands.

It is art, moreso if you use your own brushes. Good sigs do take talent, and it does have improvement. People, including myself, try to use unwhored renders. So that's not always the case. ;) I do agree with you about real art being done in pencil and whatever, but if sigs aren't art then what is it?

On topic, I think GR has helped a lot of people become more experienced with graphics and stuff like that. The sigs you posted were a lot different and shows the difference in quality. When I first started graphics my stuff really sucked, and GR has helped greatly to not just a few people, but thousands. Good job, I get what you're trying to say in this topic.

art is simply a generic term for any product of the creative impulse

and to make wallpapers/sigs and stuff you need to be creative...
