I'm really into space and when I found this I was extremely interested.
Quoting ESO - " The first planet outside of our solar system to be imaged orbits a brown dwarf (centre-right) at a distance that is nearly twice as far as Neptune is from the sun. The photo is based on three near-infrared exposures (in the H, K and L' wavebands) with the NACO adaptive-optics facility at the 8.2-m VLT Yepun telescope at the ESO Paranal Observatory. "

Edit: Yeah I know you might be saying, " wait I thought they found planets before. "
Well thats where you are wrong.A real photograph of a planet has never been taken although astronomers see " wobbles " in stars which distinctly tells them that there is another small object orbiting it. Seeing as how the object is not emitting light they can clearly decifer that it's a planet.

    Yes it is.
the picture had to be taken by infrared waves.
Meaning all you are seeing is the heat of the 2 objects taken at the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum

Have you guys heard about them blowing up (In a way ) that comet.
They are sending a proobe that will drop some thing that's supposed to cut a huge crated in the commet causing it to release dust and it should be visible with the naked eye if you are in an area not polluted with light.
