You can click Tools, Folder Options, View, And then uncheck the box that says "Hide Extensions For Known File Types." Then go to the font, and change the .TFF to .TPL.

No it should work, no changing filetypes. Are you sure they're in your fonts folder?

If you have more than 500 fonts in your fonts directory it drasically slows your pc down unless your pc is of high quality

I had 8,000 fonts and everytime I changed my font on msn it wouldn't immediately go to the list..it would lag for like 10 seconds then go there. but when I formatted my PC and installed everything again (not because of the lagging, because I had a trojan horse virus) I carefully decided on how many fonts I wanted and needed. I don't download those crappy font packs that have all those fonts that look the same. I choose specific ones.

Windows Font folder is prone to refresh problems...you will probably find that the font has been removed but the folder has not refreshed

Try going to View \ Refresh in the top toolbar of the opened folder and see if the font go if not try rebooting and deleating again
