An exploit with collecting interest has been found, so interest has been disabled until it is fixed. The exploit was pressing the "Collect Interest" button multiple times to gain multiple lots of interest. There were a couple of people doing it so there was no other choice.

Interest is a %age of your money that is credited to you. For example, if you had 100 credits (in the bank) and a 2% interest rate, you would recieve an additional 2 credits each time you picked up the sum. However, as Llamaman has explained, the code was flawed - allowed multiple pickups (and unfairly giving some people more credits than they were entitled to). A resolution to this problem is being worked on (either from us or the creators of the mod). We will update you when the interest system has been restored.
