I was just saying that if you know it's no good. There is no point posting it. It's better to pots something you're proud of than to post something you hate.

alright, alright, I have a goal: NO MORE GRADIENTS/BEVELS

I will use solid colors and patterns, no gradient tool, and make better layouts, people, yell at me if I use a gradient ever again.

Yer gradients are ok if they are used carefully and in moderation. bevels are best to stay away from untill u get quite advanced. If you want to make something stand out more burn or dodge the edges to give it a 3d look.

Ill make a tut on burning and that 2mo

    DONT SAY THAT!

Gradients are fine. I LIKED the content box gradient, you just way overdid it. I almost always use gradients, just be careful of overuse.

try to make your own style. like, this bad bevels stuff really is getting really old, do something creative, dont follow tutorials for anything either, your wires are too thick on the 2nd template, and the banner is WAY too large, everything is blurry, dont blur it. and if you do a lot of detail, they can get really good.

just spend more time on it. the more stuff is on it, the better it looks (unless its overcrowded) just leave space for like content, and such. and make everything you have like 10 pixels smaller or so.

but its a start. ill give you that.

Gradients are good, just as you long as you dont over use them. As for bevels, a sure no-no. Keep at it, I know its fustrating at first, just got to keep making templates, keep practicing, learning new skill as time passes. Its also great that you notice that your works arent up to par, cause some people got a lot of ego, always thinking their work is the best even though deep inside they themselves know it isn't the best they can do. Just keep at it bro, good luck!

    good idea

---- what you guys tell me, I'll do what I want and you cant stop me. I dont care if you dont like it, I like gradients so I'll use em, I live bevel so I'll use it to, ---- all that. You can post your comments but I don care, I'll still do whatever I feel like doin, because hes right, every single template that involves bevel/gradient gets ripped on because it includes them, who cares, these templates are not going to get used anyway.

Time to do my own thing and not care anymore :-/

and another thing, everybody here seems to form just 1 single opinion, stop reading what everybody else posts and start saying what you actually mean. Dont agree with the mainstream, speak what you think not what everybody else does, not speaking your mind dosn't get you anywhere. And its true for every single forum there is, everybody agrees with the mass of all the other opinions and maybe 1/8 of all the posts have a different opinion.

i for one am not "following the masses", you can confirm that by going to my site and looking at some of the stuff i make. I also dont go around making sigs all day as well. The reason I (and other people) tell you not to use bevels is because i once started out using bevels when i first started web design. As i developed, i realised that they dont look good, so from experience, i know not to use bevels. As you improve in designing, you will soon learn that to.
