Ok i think i have a problem lol.. i have recently had this thing install on my computer. It is set as my desktop background and it says "System stopped" and then some stuff aboutyour computer if infected with spyware. Also this thing called spysherif i think it is keeps installing its self into my computer and starts scanning it for spyware, i think the program its self is spware. Is there any way i can stop these from installing onto my computer? I am using Windows xp.

If its a Trojan/Spyware of some kind like my brother had (it sounds similar) the best thing to do is to search for *.exe on your computer through Search, if it picks up any strange new .exe files from the date your computer got infected its not a bad idea to delete those, other then that I cant help much.

Go to www.microsoft.com and download their antispyware beta version. It is one of the best tools out right now for getting rid of spyware. When its done scanning be sure to look at all the programs carefully. Sometimes it will pick up legitimate programs from smaller companies. Just check the ignore box on the ones you want to keep, the others just delete them.

    Hope this helps.

50! crap! didnt expect that many lol, the ones that seem most strange to you, you should search those on google and try finding if any sites mention anything about those .exe's.

I advise you check you have latest windows patches, try a program like Ad-Aware, or microsoft spyware. I have a program called NoAdware v3.0 which seems to find things most others (including the other 2 mentioned) miss. It shows potentially malicious programs and scans the registry for spyware (untick the ones you know about / need).

    Heres the links

    Ad- Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

    Microsoft anti-spyware: www.microsoft.com/athome/ security/spyware/software/default.mspx

    NoAdware: http://www.noadware.net/

If none of these word, try searching google, someone else will have the same problem and maybe a solution

    Hope this helps
