your digital camera hould have had a cable alogn with it when you bought it. simply plug everything in and open it, nothing more to it than that. you can edit frames in imageready and edit sound in another program

Okay, if you used a video camera, then you are gonna have to use a firewire cable.

Well first, you need to go to the store and buy a " firewire cable " if you don't already have one. Then you need to buy a program to edit things on your computer from your video camera. About 60 dollars altogether for some cheap stuff to get you through. Hope this helps.

If you hook your digital camera to your computer using the usb/firewire cable provided, (if running windows) go into my computer and there should be one extra icon than usual (there may be more than one if your camera has an internal hard drive and a memory card slot). click on the icon and if you look around in that drive for a bit you should find your video, just copy it (assuming you know how to do that) to wherever you need it. That's it on your computer, now to edit it I suggest Adobe Premier, you don't ned the full version, just the 30 trial should do, you can download that here. Then just open it up, start a new project and import your videos. If you can't understand how to use Adobe Premier look at the help files, or google it and if you still can't figure out how to work it PM me. I hope that helps ^_^
