I just got a new hard drive, and after discovering that I needed an add on board for my motherboard, I installed that as well. I knew that my power supply was barely large enough to handle the hard drive, but I didnt check for the new board.

Now, the problem is that my computer takes almost 15 mins to start up, and many of my programs freeze. Are these symptoms related to an insufficient power supply, or have I perhaps ontracted some virus?

Is there any way I can check my power supply, and see how much of it is being used? Any help would be appreciated. B)

What are the specs of your PC, speed, how many drives, etc.
What size is the power supply?

I would Check your computer for Virus'. And find out the specs for your computer and Buy a bigger power supply.

power supply doesnt affect pc speed, if theres not enough energy, your comp just doesnt start, i think its a virus or something, or maybe its related with the new hdd- its speed/format etc.

Make sure the add on board is compatible with your system board and make sure you have the latest drivers for it

Id say check drivers, make sure all is compatable, possibly geta new cheap cheap supply larger than the one you ahve and possibly more RAM? I mena you did add extra things to you steup so you may need another stick-o-RAM...
