Help With My Speech.

i need some ideas that are elaborate on why censorship is wrong..
also it would help if i can have some references/quotes/statistics on the subject..

Ahhh it counts as my final thats due in 2 days! Any help will be appreciated.

Censorship is wrong because it limits the abilities of certain people to express their feelings.

I agree with Phat Albert, people should be able to speak freely and say what they want. As long as it is in front of a mature audience, stuff should not be censored.

 

The Uited States is supposed to be free. Censorship barrs back freedom and it's many branches of expression.

You can quote that in your paper, just made it.

By censorship, do you mean swears only, or censoring like sexual terms and stuff like that also?

 

anything that involves freedom of expression , ideas , speech..
im not really looking at sexual terms

 

As you wake up in the morning, and turn on your T.V., your already seeing a form of censorship. Most do not realize how much their world is being censored, and which parts. Many countries have policies against such actions, or with such actions. When viewing any recorded T.V. show, or live feed, theirs always a 10-15 second period between when its happened, and when you see it. Shows like Howard Stern, talk shows, and Rated R movies have parts edited, to censor out material...blah, blah, blah...

Look at places like china and north korea and junk like that. THey censor everything. THey dont even let their people go every where on the internet. Thats how places like www.peacefire.org got started. I figured that out when i wanted to go to restricted sites at school

 

Can also speak of Russia and the cold war, and their leader of the time...can't think of the name, starts with a "G".

He wanted to open up Russia to Free Speech, like the U.S.

I agree with the expressing your self statements but expressing your private infront of a 10 year old kid just isn't right.

 

i dont think anyone would express their privates in front of a ten year old kid.. but anyway , it'd just be 3 years until they learn about sex and all that stuff. I think it'd help if they learn about all that stuff earlier so the information wouldnt just be crammed into their brain at one time.
