Well I'm sure everyone of you has thought about this at one time or another. I myself am really interested in topics of this sort and would like to be an astronomer once I grow up.

I believe that there are other forms of life somewhere out there. For those that don't know that are millions of other stars like our sun in the milky way galaxy and over a billion galaxies in the universe.

In my opinion there might not be organisms as developed as us but there are probobly micro organisms such as bacteria or even algae, etc. and these micro organisms will at one time or another evolve as we did. There is strong evidence of life on Mars and NASA has photographed what appeared to be a planet leaking a gas which they believed to be Oxygen ( I will try to acquire this picture ). The planet was located near a massive star which appeared to have “burned” a hole in its atmosphere.
I think the fact that there is just so many stars out there ( not many known planets seeing as they are hard to detect ), there has to be other solar systems and even if the chance of life forming in a solar system is 1000000/1 considering the amount of stars in the universe the chances would still be high.
The conditions for life to form have to be perfect but stars such as our sun are very common and I think they provide the most favorable conditions for life to form.

I do believe there is life out there, but not really sure if we're more advanced than them or vice-versa.

I'm not sure. None of us are.

WEll considering the billions and billions of star and planets out there......It's very hard to believe we're the only ones with life....

I think there is life out there. But we don't know whether they are smarter then us or not.

You really can't say that there is millions of planets... We only found like 9 out of our solar system.

The Universe is HUGE and to find a little planet lets say 100,000 miles across ( for example ) is slim to none. Its almoust impossible to see Pluto from Earth. When they look at Pluto all they see is a little dark bloob. The only real images they ever cptured of it are from a space probe they sent out that went passed it and took a few shoots. thats the only way they even know what it looks like.

The first planet discovered out of our solar system was discovered only 10 years ago. The only way they can really tell a planet is orbiting a star is by observing the star for a long period of time and looking for a " wobble " ( a cyclical shifting of its light toward the blue and red ends of the spectrum ). This planet offcourse has to be really close to the star in order to cause this wobble and they have found out that it orbits it every 4 days at a whopping speed of 482,000 km/h

EXAMPLES Of Extra terrestrial Planet discovered: http://astron.berkeley.edu/~gmarcy/0398marcybox1.html

That planet is 6.8 or 6.9 times the size of Jupiter and they don't even know if they should consider it a planet because its so massive. So whats the chance that it has life or not?

My Biggest Proof That there Might be Life:
    http://astron.berkeley.edu/~gmarcy/IMG/0398marcy_orbital.jpg
Those are distances of some discovered planets from their host stars.
If you look at the 8th column you will find that the planet is almoust as far away as mars is. Meaning if mars at one point sustained life and if that star is as hot or a little hotter ( would be better because the planet is farther from earth meaning it would need a stronger star to heat it at the same temperature our planet is heated ) the conditions would be suitable for life deveopment.

Ok enought typing my fingers hurt.

Yes, I believe there is other intelligent life, because if there is a chance of us being able to survive, then there deffinatly is a chance of other things to survive out their too. There is a formula for figuring out how many other planets out there can support life, but I dont know it off the top of my head.

yeah there are others out there.

theres buses going by all the time

but yeah, to the universe we are a speck of sand, have you ever tried counting them???????????

And for someone smarter than us to take the time and observe us is pointless, its like us taking a day to watch an ANT crawl around.

They would be off making a log of all planets with semi smart organisms and then move off, the things we see at night are 70% goverment test aircraft 27% phoenomnia, ie. ballons, gas vapor, saturn aswell as mis identified, biirds planes etc, 2% drunken hill billy and 1% actual extra terristeral life.

    thats what i think anyway

    LoL Choice, but good point.

I personally believe there are other life forms out there for all we know there may be an undiscovered planet somewhere with human beings on it, you never know  but for things like Aliens I do definately believe in! Considering how big the Universe is it doesn't seem right that we are the only planet with life on. And TBH I don't think we will actually ever find out if there are other lifeforms unless we send space probe thingies out everywhere and scan everywhere but that would take ages.

Hmm no one has mentioned Area 51 yet lol. Is all that true or a hoax?
