So when you save a jpeg, what's the maximum quality you can set it at for it to still be used in a sig. I've had problems with it before and need to know. Thanks.
A smart boy like you should be able to figure this out by yourself. When you save it as a jpeg, it says quality, and there is a number next to it, usually 8. Now, with my logic, I would assume that using a higher number, would mean higher quality, so the higher numbers you use, the higher quality. Highest quality is 12.
I use the Save for Web option and choose a range from 60-75. I might go as high as 80 depending on how much degradation I can exchange for a smaller file. Saving at 100 or highest setting is a waste. Same goes for saving as unncessary PNGs all the time (ie. no transparency). The quality isn't much better and the file size bloats like crazy. Oh, and never keep working on a JPEG. Quality goes down each time you save on it. Keep it as a PSD and use the save for web function.
