hmm...gif is good, but if your saving a bitmap go for png, no loss in quality, and i have no real idea, i save all my stuff as jpeg, so ask somebody who knows what they're talkin about

what type of file (.gif, .png, .bmp, ,jpg)?... i know if u use jpeg then that automatically reduces file size... and that if its a bmp that is the most room... so if its .bmp use .png or depending on how much detail is in the picture you can use .gif or jpeg.

    Easy.

Open up the file using Photoshop.

Go to [File > Save For Web]. Notice the "Save for web" text.. ;)

Select the JPG option and move the slider across until you see a loss in quality. For me it I stopped the slider at around 46. Then obviously click "Save".
