Anyone know how to make a png-24 file transparent in IE? The only way I could find was to use a php function, but that won't work for individual sigs, just on a webpage, right? So... how to make individual png-24 sigs transparent in IE? Is there a way I don't know of? Thanks...
Dude, the problem is not on my side, I'm already using firefox. -_- If you can't help, don't say stuff like that. It's true that lots of people are using firefox, but there's like 80+ to 90% of people out there still using IE.
Sorry but that was my way of helping because it is a way that would solve the problem... It's a 3 mb file smaller than some renders
most of the people here and on other GFX boards use firefox, but i dont know of a way to make it tramsparent on IE.
Dont save it as .png. Go to file>>save for web Then save it as a gif with high colors and click the check next to "transparent". Then it will be transparent in IE, .png's can't be transparent in IE. I use IE as well, but I save all my files as .png becuase I want other people to see them transparent, and most people use firefox these days, at least most smart people. The only reason I don't use firefox is becuase I installed it last week and was having internet problems, but I think I'll try installing it again this week.
Saving as a GIF is like taking your english essay and dumping it in the trash. Sure it's still readable, but it looks like shiznat. My advice is to get Firefox. Most graphic designers understand that it's better, and are more likely to use it. In fact, almost 60% of Firefox users, in a recent survey, said that they do graphics either as a hobby or by profession.
The only way to get IE to support transparent png files is if yoh have the MAC version of it. Otherwise....just get firefox like everyone has already said. Bona's right about gif images sucking. Mainly because the limited amount of colors as opposed to png images. Something like 255(gif) vs. 16.7 million(png, jpg), that and small file size as a result of the compression of gif images.
