bands like Operation Ivy, Less than Jake, Jesse James, Madness, they're all ska. Basically music with trumpets and punk influences (sometimes) and it's really happy music.
haha that was a good definition.

I like a lot of music genres, mainly the sub genres of rock.

    Pop punk
    Punk Rock
    Heavy Rock
    Black/Thrash/Medolic Metal
    Emo
    Hardcore
    Ska

Metal owns all, I don't like rap that much, usually about sex and killing or beating.

well... Ska orginated in Jamaica in the late 50's and early 60's with such bands as The Skatalites, Desmond Dekker and more... many older reggae bands are considered ska as well (Bob Marley and the Wailers) because of reggaes roots in ska... as it crossed the seas over into England a "second" wave of ska began most identified by the two-tone record label and bands such as Bad Manners, The Specials, The Selecter, Madness and many more... The latest ska... reffered to as "third" wave or punk-ska is often describes as punk with horns but maintains a different sound in my opinion... bands from this wave include Less Than Jake, Buck-O-Nine, Mu330, Catch 22, The Aquabats, Reel Big Fish, and many more
A good deal of well known bands have created quite a few songs and some (such as No Doubt) began as ska bands...also alot of punk bands are actually more close to ska in sound mainly NOFX and alot of Rancid song (especially in the album Life Won't Wait)....
Sublime is another well known band that many consider to fall into the ska category...
sorry for inaccuracies... this was all from memory and probably has a few mistakes

ska is very fun upbeat music categorized by upstrokes on the guitar and wonderful horn sections
