Kk well none of u probably missed me or noticed that i was gone like for 3 weeks... The reason i was out for that long is cuz my computer effed up and i wanna reinstall windows but never had enough time so im doing it tomorow. I just want to know something before i do, what is the windows activation thing? Can someone tell me about it? Cuz i've heard it's something you have to do after you reinstall windows in 30 days.
it's essentially what I am going through right now. either buy a windows OEM and make sure you back it up or don't reinstall windows and use what you have if you can. if you absolutely can't better use your system restore disc that came with your computer or swap hardrives with another comp.
i lost the backup cd...so ur saying unless i have the original windows i shouldnt reinstall it? The only way i can run my computer is through safe mode... so i have to reinstall...any other suggestions

yes, your computer provider made an agreement with you in their TOS and TOA (terms of service and terms of agreement) that they will replace any missing needed cd's and files for your computer if it gets messed up. Such as the Quick Restore CD. just call dell or go to best buy / circuit city and they can give you one, but best buy is best choice out of that, from experience they are nicer about it.
if i go to best buy, what do i need to show them to get the cd? and what does it have to do with best buy anyway? Also, i was wondering, do mac os work on Pcs?
ok i just formatted my pc and it restarted and it was about to in stall windows and then i geta box saying im missing a file.... it doesnt find the file i have no idea where it is....but im possitive there is nothing missing on my windows cd....
