Well with the summer coming, so comes my summer job. Im trying to get a laptop this year with the money. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've already looked at the Alienware Sentia and a couple dells...
i just bought a laptop for 950, its a HP Pavilion zv6005 its got a amd 64 3200+ dvd burner, and 128mb pcix ati 200m chipset (it is a laptop chipset) 512 ram 15.4 widescreen. it is a solid laptop i like it alot and am happy i bought it, im not into laptops so i cant give you many suggestions this was kind of a impulse buy.
This is what my friend ghot for 1300$ a few months ago a Fujitsu comp w/ the following specs intel P4ht @3.2GHZ ATI radeon 256bit mobility 1gig ram 80gig HD CD/DVD rom 17inch screen needless to say he got an increadibly good deal the only bad thing about it at all would be the fact that it is heavy. unless your going into a (far) higher end laptop I suggest trying to get something like this, if you shop around you could likely get one for around 1600-2000$ if you have a little more cash get an AMD 64
As others have said, you can't find anything too great with laptops. Basicly I would if I were you rethink it, what would you use the laptop for? If you travel a lot or have problems sitting in chairs for a period of time. Than go for it. I own a IBM laptop which was a requirement for my first 2 years of junior college. The battery is somewhat short lasting and I have had alot of problems with it. If you are using the computer for anykind of gaming, 3d or 2d photo work, and or video editing etc. Just stick with the desktops. Unless you can afford the heavy duty alienware computers.
personally if i had the cash i would buy a alienware laptop any kind doesn't matter, theere all amazing, but if i had to choose between a laptop and a pc it would defo be a pc!
So do you plan to do with it? Office stuff, then go for one betwen $800-$1,100. Gaming? go like $1,500+ and check the components. Just remember, labtops arn't made for gaming
It depends on a couple of things. If you want a gaming machine, then get an Alienware or a Dell XPS laptop. If you are looking for longer battery life, get one with a Pentium M laptop. If you are looking for a school laptop, IBM makes some great laptops.
Dont buy one!!! I got one a few months ago and I have been killing myself over it and I think im gonna swap it with my parents for a PC, Laptops are slow, hard to upgrade for cheap, the only advantage is that they are portable....Only get one if you are going to use it for a job not for leisure.
don't get a sony their battery life is completely rubbish if you want to use it for gaming or other demanding purposes go here: http://www.viciouspc.com/ they have great laptops for not such a bad price either Or get an acer or fujitsu siemens laptop, they work great and are quite cheap
I agree with the expensive to upgrade, but some laptops are pretty fast. And the main reason people buy laptops is for the portability.
I say if you want a laptop get an Apple Powerbook. The best thing you will ever get if you want to use it for multimedia.
Yeah. Apple's Powerbooks are nice. iBooks are pretty nice too, if you can't afford a PowerBook. If you have to get a PC, though, I'd recommend HP.
