Wow that is very good for a first. Something i sugjest is don't make it so plain you left alot of black space open, go get some good brushes from deviant art, also go to good-tutorials.com they can realy help you as well with diffrent text affects and such.

I suggest putting more stuff in the backround. I would also use a smaller pixel font, which can be found at dafont.com.

Definaltey try out some more brushes. I have a link in the bottom of my sig that will take you to some of the best ones there. Mess around with the brushing first then and in renders and fonts. But get your brushing first. Fonts are always a pain to pick the right one. Try a few and you will find some you like. Same thing with the renders, try a few in your sig and just experiment. Dont give up.

Smaller, more "things" going on in the backround, and blend the backround with image better.

Firstly, welcome to GR!! :D Make yourself at home. :)

As for the sig; very good job for your first (better than mine :P) I suggest changing the fonts. www.dafont.com, browse and download some fonts. :) Add some nice effects to them too. www.good-tutorials.com has it all. :) Here for renders, and also look in our tut section. Things like multicolour and text effects are usefull. :) Like everyone else said - brushes. www.deviantart.com then click browse then resources then Photoshop brushes. ;)
