For you (Athlon 64 owners), there's a new upgrade software or download coming to your 64-bit operating systems soon. It's called Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. This upgrade can replace the 32-bit Windows XP Professional program into the 64-bit revolution. Click the link and read about it: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/u...de/default.mspx I am thinking about getting this upgrade. It can make your 64-bit processor run smooth and fast. Also, here's the link for the top 5 reasons to upgrade/get Professional x64 Edition: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/e...ation/top5.mspx
Longhorn isnt released until 2007. DONT GET 64 bit edition, so many programs arent compatitble with it especially virus scanners.
I heard that 64 bit edtion is more like win98. Forget 64 bit edtion. Lets step it up and use 128 bit.
^lol, NO. 64 bit edition is the best edition, its cleaner, faster, smoother. I do suggest upgrading to it, but I urge you to wait 4 months or so until drivers and software are upgraded to work on it.
Im getting an AMD 64 3000+ processor next week. I don't think I will get the 64 bit windows until it is officially released from Microsoft. There is some copies of it out right now but I don't think they are to stable.
I don't want to get it yet until it is officially released and is also stable. I ain't upgrading this and not become stable.
I've got it - and lemme tell yah it runs sooo amazingly. Computer speed has increased dramatically and I'm able to run a lot MORE programs than before. Good upgrade
