As you can see, I'm not exactly the expert here when it comes to templates. Pass me some suggestions about color, nav bar, brushing in the backround, text at the top, and other things to add to this.

I want this to become a portfolio template, so whats in a portfolio template?

umm...loos the shapes and such keep it rectangle's and the other one, forgot it, lol

and make a bigger content box becuase you got lots of space

    loose the scan lines

boreder is huge, just make some cool sidebars.

use better brushes, maybe some good grunge or blood brushes would be nice

and i just dont like the color that much

    ;)

....My honest opinion, start again from scratch.

But if you're not into that kind of thing, try and remove some of the scanlines and add some more colour into it, like red.

Also, try to have it so that the entire template can be made of repeating units, gradients to the entire image are a bitch to code for and they don't add that much, not to mention the fact they raise load time a ----load.

it looks a lot like bevel and emboss.. either way, just the appearance of it looks nasty

anyways, theres way too much unused space and a website like this wouldnt be too content-healthy because of its small size..keep working at it

gradients don't raise load times, heavy image use does, but that can be taken care of with CSS and such.
