samurai, no doubt! A knight has heavy armor that only slows him down, and a huge sword that very difficult to handle. A samurai is better trained, has light but strong armor, sword is folded between 50-100 times while forging (no kidding! you can still buy 'em, they're insanely expensive...) making them stronger than a knights sword. a samurai kicks a knight's ass before he knows he has an opponent...

The Samurai would win unless the knight was on a horse, like many were :/. The knight might stand a chance because of his armor as well, but the Samurai definately has much better sword skills imo.
samurais because they are trained way better also a knights armor isnt that solid a Longbows arrow can penetrate it as easy as butter. Besides the samurais have the best sword its light and can cut through even the harest armor. The knight is slow because of the armor but he has some skillz that would allow him to survive for some time, while the agility of a samurai and his skills are no match for a knight. So overall a samurai would win. Also CHINA invented gunpowder not JAPAN.
samarai would jump over the knight. kick him in the a$$ *knight falls down on ground powerless* *samarai thrusts sword in back of the knights neck where armor does not cover* wow that was fast.
