There isnt any real ending. It leaves options for a few different ending. You end it how you think it should end.

How do I think it ends? Im not too sure..

there is the possibility that Jonas and Gabe finally reached Elsewhere, a community of freedom, and difference. Or Jonas could have never made it to elsewhere, he could be unconcious somewhere on his way to elsewhere or still in the community.
There are many possibilities Im just trying to think of some discussed in my class...

    1. sameness. (exact language means every1 talks the exact same way)

    2. organization for the community. if they could do what they want it wouldnt fit into the sameness concept.

    3. "feelings" or stirrings in the book, so those wouldnt occur. (only excuse for jobs would be the level of organization the community had)

    4. im not quite sure to be honest with you.

    5. again we can bring up the stirrings. the leaders didnt want people to have there own feelings, they wanted them to be just like every1 else. emotions would be a good word for this. (or lack there of in this story)

    6. lies lead to many things. many problems would occur off of one lie in an organized society. this society is somewhat like comunism in a sense, so one misguided idea=anarchy.

    7. somebody had to hold memorys for people when the giver dies. and in the end the giver holds the memorys so others dont have to (such as pain which was expressed in the story if you remember)

    8. not quite sure, though i always assumed jonas made it to the other side or whatever they were calling the distant community he went searching for.

    9. the memorys were released, which im sure caused a state of panic (these people never felt pain or any emotion for that matter, imagine what it was like to finally know when u fall you're suposed to become injured)

    10. almost like a "the grass is always greener on the other side" concept. you think things are great from some1 else point of view, or u wish for a perfect life. well there it is, but its not everything.

    11. no. never, being different is what makes the world a good place. if i were to wake up and make the exact same sig as yours, and then every1 else follow me, would that be nice? :D (horrible example but you get it)

    12. tells them this: what if every1 felt the same way, looked the same way, and acted the same way? perfect is only perfect to a certain point. then its just strange.

well there ya go, i did my best but i can only give so much info on the questions you asked ;)

    The Giver is a book...

The Giver in the book is This dude who holds memories of pain, love, colors, etc...No one else in the community has these memories besides him...

I would of helped but the only books I ever read were the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Everytime we got to do something about a book I read the back of it and invent a huge story and I get 85% lol.
