well i was lookin in this magazine and i saw this computer for $1600 and i was wondering if that was a good price, here are the specs Intel Pentium 4 560 3.6GHz 800FSB Microsoft Windows XP Professional 1 GB DDR2 Memory (2) 250GB SATA Hard Drives 16x Dual Layer DVD Burner 16x DVD-ROM Drive ATI X600Pro 128MB PCI Express Video with TV out and DVI out Logitech Keyboard & Mouse Intel 925X Motherboard
the only thing that doesnt look good is the 3.0ghz is kinda slow for a high end comp and th x600's suck balls.
Looks nice, but sorry to go off thread here, but whats bad about eMachines? I hear people saying its bad...Explain plase
Thats not bad comp, but honestly its cheaper just to go out and by the parts. I have almost the same specs and even some are better its just ALOT cheaper to go out and buy them it realy is. Sure your comp monitor and case probably arn't going to be all fance unless you buy them to but you realy should just go out and by the same parts and install them to the comp. Now im not going to lie some parts won't work for certain comp specs but if you go on the internet and look some of them up you can find what would work best with it.
i have a system max and its awesome... i got a AMD Athlon and its got a huge ass monitoor to like watchin a t.v.
not to be offensive but the Athalon XPs aren't that great(good bang for the $ though, I have one) ================== If I had 1600$ I would build my own, that way you could make sure it will be powerfull for a while(by buying a motherboard that is overkill) mobo 170$ http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4102123?s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG processor(probabl and AMD 3400+ if I were you) 200$ 1gig of ddr ram 120$(you should be able to upgrade it to 3 or 4 as the need arises) Graphics card 500 - probably a Nvidia if I were you http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4082632?s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG the total there is:170+200+120+500 which is 990. this leaves you 610$ for a power supply and an OS(assuming you are reusing your old case from your current computer) I know little of power supplies as I have never bought a new one since I only upgrade computers formyself and a few people I know and not build them, but I would assume that 40$ would be enough http://shop4.outpost.com/product/3752876?s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG spending somewhere around 150 on fans(or if you are adventurous, semi-homemade watercooling) to be safe brings you to 1140. you can buy a windows OEM for about 99$(or a liscence for windows should you be a student) and something like Norton Ghost for about 80$(so you can back up your Fresh computer; install ghost imediately and back up the entire system) 1320$ so far them blow the remaining 280$ on nice things like hardrives(you only really need 250gigs you can have a second smaller HD with a partition on it for system backup)and a DVD burner there at about 1600$ you have a fully operational system with more power and upgradeablity that their gimmick.(also, remember you can add quite a few HDs to a comp if you are set up right so you really aren't limited)
^Do not get a 3400+ = they were a bad batch, screwed up cache or some crap. DOnt get that pc. Get a AMD 3500+ (939 pin version so you can upgrade to an FX or a dual processor later) 1 gig ram ATI 850 PCI card
looks pretty good to me, but from my experience you could build that computer yourself (dunno if you know how, but ya....hehe) for alot less, even a better one
i guess its aight for its specs BUT vid card = suckage intel = suckage I would rather wait for an AMD 64. Circut City has had sales on pc's just as good or better for less than $1000.
Like we have already mentioned just go out and build it much cheaper and can get better one that way.
I dont understand why everybody says intel sucks? They are about the same quality processors, they both have their pros and cons.
