Need Help With Internet

    yah ever since i got this new modem my internet hasnt been connecting examples LiveUpdate MSN Messanger AIM and any other programs like that and its ----ing retarded i cant ever connect to anything n e more :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored:

    Are you talking about a dial-up modem,cable modem or DSL modem? It could be anything.

    Are you on a network? Like are you using a router or something to connect all the computers or is the modem only for the pc you are using?

    my comp is the only 1 connected to the network

    k, so....you can connect with your browser im assuming? since your replying in the forum. if so, then its just programs that cant connect? and once again, if so, which programs cant connect and if any can, which ones.

    the ones that dont connect is MSI Liveupdate, Symnatec LiveUpdate, AIM, MSN Messanger, Windows Messanger, Yahoo Messenger, and anything that dus automatic downloads dont connect things that do connect are Firefox, Counter Strike Source, Return To Castle Wolfenstein thats about it :'(

    please help me with this ive been dealing with this ---- for a few months and i want it fixed so please if any 1 knows wtf is going PLEASE HELP!!

    Hmm....
    My guess would be...
    You Firewall in SP2 is on? Check that.(If you have Windows XP)
    Your modem has the athority to block ports which access those type of Programs. Router can do the same thing, check your manual/ with your ISP.

    i dont have windows firewall on and if u knew what ports most those programs gfo thru can u plz tell me so i can allow things that run thru that port work :D
