Yes it's St Georges Day on the 23rd ....... Who is he i hear you ask...... Well he's the patron saint of ENGLAND........ St George was a brave Roman soldier who protested against the Romans' torture of Christians and died for his beliefs. The popularity of St George in England stems from the time of the early Crusades when it is said that the Normans saw him in a vision and were victorious. As one great man said "There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word, which means more to me than any other. That word is ENGLAND." That man was winston churchill......
heh, im english and i always assumed it was st george who slayed the dragon, not st george the roman guy :/ he's also a patrant saint of germany (oh the irony) and some other dodgey thing, that i cant recall yes, i saw this info on the paul o'grady show >.<
