The job market today totally sucks platypus balls right now, especially for new grads. Companies are either hiring from within or just throwing out internships like beads at Mardi Gras. Seriously, a 43 year-old ex-marketing manager was hired as a marketing intern over me. It freaking pisses me off. Can't even get an entry-level position because older people are retiring much later than they should be. I saw 60 year-old working the Taco Bell drive-thru the other day. He messed up my order completely and gave me a bag of tortilla chips instead of my Nachos Bell Grande.
