Heya everyone! Hope all is going well with ya all. I've got a problem with my motherboard, it's a Foxconn Digitalife P45AP-S (discontinued). It used to work fine until one day when I cleaned my Processor heatsink and fan, it plugged everything back again and it started having this problem. I bought a new motherboard after this and forgot about this one. Now the new motherboard that I got is fried so I plugged this back in and it still has that problem, I've already changed the Casing and bought a new Power Supply. It turns on and within a matter of few seconds switches off. Sometimes it posts but other times it doesn't. I know the Processor and all the other components in the PC are fine since they were working before the new Motherboard fried. So far I've tried the following: 1. Pulled the battery, and tried a new battery as well. 2. Resetted the jumper. 3. Tried with 2 different powersupplies. Now from what I've searched on the internet, it seems that it could be my processor fan not seated properly which is something I am yet to rectify. I haven't tried another stock fan/heatsink since I don't have a spare one. But I tried seating it and pressing against the processor but that didn't help. My processor fan's legs are broken and they don't seat very well on the board but I seat 2 of them somehow. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
I'm putting my money on a fried processor. A lot of the times, when the motherboard fries, the CPU goes with it, or is not far behind it. Drop a seperate CPU in and see what happens. But I'm willing to bet it's the CPU.
Check the boards capacitors. Are any bulging/bent? If that checks out fine I will also say it's probably a bad CPU.
