lol, AMD 3400+ were a reject batch. They had messed up cache and AMD sold em to hp, alienware, etc.[/b][/quote]
to start i dont run a hp or alienware built my computer myself dont know who told you that the AMD 3400+ was a reject batch an Amd 3400+ is the same as an AMD 3200 + with the core clock increased by 200MHzor or you can say that the 3400+ core clock is identical to that of Athlon 64 FX-51 only advantage left to FX-51 is a dual-channel Registered DDR400 SDRAM controller...........

    look :

no a 3400 running at 2.4 ghz runs at 2.4 ghz, (dont whine i own about 5 amd machines) until windows x64 pro comes out it will stay at 2.4

WHEN x64 pro DOES come out it will make a 2,4 ghz 3400 into a monster 4.8ghz, but only with special programs that take advantage of the double processing power.

the first couple of programs that will only be able to run on 64 bit machines will probably be CAD programs, followed by adobe and digital art programs, last on the list will be gaming, so by the time we get to gaming, the 64 bit processor will rule

as a side not intel also has 64 bit chips out NOW called the intel 6XX sequence processors, but they lose power from not having the on die memory controller.

I always used amd products so I know hardly anything about intel... I'll go with AMD since I always used it and never had problems with amd products. My friend has a 2.4ghz celeron(LMFAO) and it's so slow lol...

AMD all the way!!! I used to have an AMD Athlon XP +2800 (2.0Ghz) on my computer I built last year. During the Christmas season, my computer was infected by the virus. It started to reboot numerous of times, gives me the blue screen error like 10 times and start to dump my memory. When my friend took my computer for a diagnostic check, he told me it kept on doing the same routine and there's nothing I can do about it. So I ended up buying a new mobo with a new CPU and 1GB RAM. Instead of buying an Athlon XP, I bought an AMD Athlon 64 +3200 (2.2Ghz). Damn, the AMD 64 is so awesome. The computer's performance was running smooth and fast. Thank god for AMD. :D
