I find the render has been WAY too blended. Its very hard to find it as a focal point amoungst the background. Redo the render, define it and bring it to the foreground... the effects in the background is okay but bring some colour into it and work on a sense of lighting and depth if you can... Not bad for a start but you really need to work more on it. Easiest way to redefine the render would be to repaste the render on top of your current and not remove his hair or blur/opacity it down so much...
