People can only hope for it to happen but AT&T may have a strong hold on the iPhone for a long time coming
the iPhone is an exclusive phone to AT&T. It's rare to see any phone on multiple carriers. The Nexus 1 is one of the few. But the android OS is supported by all carriers. iOS is not, and the iPhone will never run android.
Nah not at all actually, at&t's contract ended with apple for exclusivity of the iphone at the end of 2009. Rumor has it once Verizon changes it network to 4g next year it will allow the iphone and its features to operate on Verizon, apple and Verizon have met multiple times but nothing has been released. Google it if you don't believe me haha
When you say Apple met with Verizon, who do you mean in particular? Did Joe on Verizon's marketing team meet with the guy who cleans Apple's toilets have lunch together and discuss how awesome an iPhone would be on Verizon's network? Maybe. But they don't have say. No one official has discussed it, if they did...that's called an announcement. Nothing but rumor on Google. No facts. I still have solid facts saying it'll never happen. Plus, Verizon dove head first into the Droid craze...i don't see them reaching for the iPhone ever. Also, 4G still doesn't provide GSM support. AT&T will offer 4G soon as well.
here in canada the first iphone was exclusive to rogers with the iphone3g 2 more carries telus and bell received the iphone as of july 30th all 3 of those carries have the iphone 4 when im able to pay off my blackberry ill probably be getting the iphone 4 on telus, id love to get the evo 4g but its not available in canada
once you get it you will love it ive had it for close to a month and dont plan on trading it for anything soon. but you may have to switch carriers unless where you live the evo 4g and aria is on the same network cause i think that its a sprint exclusive
- LOL of the day... iPhone 5 set to release in January of 2011. - Verizon Rumor update: A chipset is being developed for the new iPhone so that it will no longer rely on GSM support. This will open the door for Verizon...however, the company still has no interest in offering an alternative to their Droid. Sprint and T-Mobile however are clawing at each others throats for the phone.
My Dad just gave me his old HTC Vogue, as he upgraded to an HTC Touch2 a few months back, so I'm probably gonna install Android and give it a go.
