I've been a member here for years... I finally put in a staff app...

I was just wondering where it goes from there. Is GR hiring? or does my app sit until a spot opens up?

Anywho, I'm active, have a design degree, background in web dev. and am currently a customer experience specialist for a major company. I have a wee bit of free time and wouldn't mind helping out any way I can.

    Mods? Admins? Members?

Anyone who knows what goes on around here...keep me posted.

    Greetz,

Well at the moment i dont think we need new staff. we have some more stuff planned, but shaggy's busy at the moment & Sanity is moving. but we'll probably resume after the summer and i think we could use some help at that time. but not right now. ;) as things arent as active as they used to be :D only thing i have to do right now i manage contests.

Sounds like we need a marketing/promotions director. ;)

What we need is a million dollars. Then we could make a clone of Twitter and rake in the dollars.

They key would be having uniform and quality content. To start, i'd reformat our most useful tutorials, and establish a standard for those to get them uniform in the future. After that, we need to start submitting to sites like good-tutorials and pixel2life, that will greatly improve our traffic. After that, we'll standardize our cut-outs, package them, and organize them into free download packages. So in the end, content is key.

I'd like to see hired tutorial writers and cut-out specialists who stick to a strict standard.

If I had a higher standing here, i'd be happy to organize and execute an effective marketing plan to increase Gamerenders' traffic flow.

All that's been tried in the past, and has either failed or run out of steam.

Few hours a day. I make an effort to not reply to stupid shit if I don't have to.

Shaggy has a newborn and Sanity is currently on vacation.

Everything you've said has been done before.

    And talk is cheap.

    That's all I'm saying.

+1 Its too late IMO for GR to return to the days when ONLY 125 members online was considered dead lol

My personal opinion is the same as those individuals who have been around for a long time. It has all been done before, in various fashions, and I don't believe any of it works. The update to VB and a new skin is the most work that has been done on the site in literally years, and there is a lot more necessary in order to assure the survival of GR, and I don't think the members (old or new), or the staff have it in them.
